Midnight, Me and the Blues by Cracker

twenty years ago I was a different woman...I was a beat and broken woman...Butch chewed me up and spit me out...along with a house full of kids...so when I met Ronnie I was in pieces...nothing that gets broken stays the same...I told you about the lady just walkin' into my house...twenty some odd years ago she would have known better without a word bein' said...I sent off strong vibes...then came the fall...so now what do I do?...now I over-look ignorance...let people slide...but even now I have my limits...I'm gettin' better...time takes care of most of it...Whit did a post one time about being glued together with gold...thats what happened for me...there is a reason for all things...when Ronnie died I moved to town because my heart could not take seein' him every where I looked and knowin' he was gone..so I moved to town...by nature I am a pack rat...yard sale junkie...flea market hound...kind of woman that needs a two room house and a ten room shed....so I left a three bedroom house with shed to a two bedroom apartment in town...cut back....that goes along cool til shit happened and things change....and I find myself in a two room apartment....cut back.....but on this cut back I have decided that I like spartan livin'...so I put nothin in this place...nothin..my coffee pot...my computer...the rest was donated by my neice who just had to help Aunt Shiirley...which was great and wonderful..I got a new twin bed out of the deal and it rocks..cut back....now this was cool beans with me..I could see me sailin' down the highway about now ...wind in hair...rockin' to the oldies..Shinook hummin' right along...but NOOOO...ex daughter-in-law shows up ...homeless with two kids...so.. be a willow and bend with the breeze....and if I thought her parents read this I would tell them that they should feel ashamed of their selves...I won't hang your dirty laundry out here...but you should feel ashamed of it none the less...this is one of those things that I have let slide...but...if I get kicked out of here..I"m movein' the whole bunch into her parents and tell them to call the law...I'll wait on the porch...bastards....yeah, I gotta lot of shit in my neck..maybe this is why I found Blogstream...to polish me off...I need a little polish and that is for sure...I love people and can't tolerate a chicken-shit...I was punched in the head so often that my vision got cloudy and alot of things were out of focus...but it's clearin' up...I'm still the same ole gal..back in the day when I was with Ronnie in the country I would go to my sisters in Tennessee and when I did I felt like I came home with another piece of my backbone ...thats what it felt like it did to me kids...kicked my backbone out...anyway..I have rocks that their form reminds me of backbones in my yard in the country...when I find one I take it home ...feel like 'm gettin' my backbone back...dats goot....the sun is shinin'...I have laundry on the line..kids are playin and Mom is at work...I hope all of you are havin' a great day and hope to get to come around tonight...love ya...
