my 14 year old grandson just called me...he's my babydoll..one of them anyway...he was worried about granny cause he hasn't seen me in "forever"...school is almost out...I will be able to have him come to visit me..he told me today I was "like a best friend...you know grandma?"...one of the highest compliments a woman can be given I would think...today must be a day of reflection for me...but I'm gonna dig around in photo bucket and find me a laugh or two...don't want to play into that heavy drama deal....

 

drove down to Jeff City today to see a buddy of mine...I kinda feel sorry for the guy cause he is always the bearer of bad news...I guess he has told me about more deaths...when I lived in the country w/o a phone he would drive to let me know....today...wasn't thinkin' nothin' of it...but he asked if I knew Dan G...yeah...for about twenty-five years now...well...I guess he died about an hour before I got to Ed's...lot I could say about Dan...he was a great fisherman and coon hunter...he gave me a beautiful set of blue ticks once cause I kept his kennels clean while he was gone...he was good to me...used to salt away treasures and tell me to go find them...always something...I still have a mirror that he gave me...beautiful old thing...he put out THE most beautiful garden of any man I have ever met...he would be out before daylight workin' it...when I was hid out in the woods before I married Ronnie it was Dan I would walk out to in his backyard and he would tell me every move that had been made while I was on my walk..my soul search I suppose would be a better name...anyway..Dan would be there...I kinda had a crush on him but he had an ole lady and so nothin' ever come of that...and then I married Ronnie and his ole lady died...odd how life works out...I got over it..I don't think it really went very deep...maybe just drawn to his kindness...and he was ever that...to bad we don't know ahead of time...I would have liked to see him again...never dreamed he be gone...well kids ...that is my day...looks like rain tonight and they are callin' for it tomorrow...you all have a good night..
