1. Your thumb is nearest you. So begin your prayers by praying for those closest to you. They are the easiest to remember. To pray for our loved ones is, as C. S. Lewis once said, a "sweet duty."
2. The next finger is the pointing finger. Pray for those who teach, instruct and heal. This includes teachers, doctors, and ministers. They need support and wisdom in pointing others in the right direction. Keep them in your prayers.
3... The next finger is the tallest finger. It reminds us of our leaders. Pray for the president, leaders in business and industry, and administrators. These people shape our nation and guide public opinion. They need God's guidance.
4. The fourth finger is our ring finger. Surprising to many is the fact that this is our weakest finger, as any piano teacher will testify. It should remind us to pray for those who are weak, in trouble or in pain. They need your prayers day and night. You cannot pray too much for them.
5. And lastly comes our little finger - the smallest finger of all which is where we should place ourselves in relation to God and others. As the Bible says, "The least shall be the greatest among you." Your pinkie should remind you to pray for yourself. By the time you have prayed for the other four groups, your own needs will be put into proper perspective and you will be able to pray for yourself more effectively.
...I was sittin' there awhile ago and thought about the gas deal...remember back when ...back when we drove smaller cars?...the speed limit was 55 to save gas?...now everybody and their brother is in hock to their eyes for those big ole trucks ...I drive an ole beater 76 Chevy pickup...six banger and it runs like a top..you all look at it from out there and think.."junk"...I sit in it and think "classic"...so it's all about what angle you are lookin' at it thing from....it's gonna get bad kids...I been over at the web site for wall street and it doesn't look good...but as I was sayin' before I fell off track...Americans drive...mostly one in a vehicle...big ole gas hogs....goin' 75 down the road with a cell phone tryin' to talk or text...see anything wrong with that picture?...we are wearin' clothes made in China and various other countries...even Levi's come from there now...the pay day loan places have sprouted up like mushrooms ...who owns those damn things?...somebody needs to find out..credit cards are sent and used until people forgot what cash and carry is all about...livin' on borrowed money...bad news ...I found a ladies wallet one day in Wal-Mart cart and I went to see who owned it and the poor gal had nothin' but credit cards...now some of you put a high value on credit cards but I'm gonna tell you how I see the damn things...trouble...you don't need nothin' in this life bad enough you can't wait to get it...granted there are things like houseing ...I see the reason behind some of it...but this mass credit has about sunk our ship...I'm thinkin' you're gonna have to learn how to do without a little...I feel sorry for people in big cities...we been in a tail spin for awhile...I remember when they brought out that new money...I was goin through a check out and the little gal said.."it looks fake"...I told her I didn't think it was worth much any more...and it ain't...dollar on the decline and food on the rise...sounds like an old song I heard one time..I'll try to remember it later...well kids...you all have a house full of smart people here and you don't need me to rattle ...hang on to your hats kids...we're goin for a ride...don't worry about buyin' bonds..money be better spent on beans
